Once she revealed him it was like signifying the song. She breaks the illusion and shows herself his true face and she knows his true identity. In the end when she exposes him it's like breaking the barrier. They now have an undeniable connection may it be good or bad or in-between. Christine came to the phantom and learned music with him but she didn't know why and now she does. We still have this connection and there is no denying it. Past the point of no return is like saying, we are past returning from what I (the phantom) has done but there is still hope. It feels like she still has some feeling for the phantom despite all that he has done. In the movie you can tell she knows it's him by her facial expressions and the look on Raoul's face shows he knows and others know too. In the play she suddenly gets up in realization it's the phantom in the middle of the song. He did write it with all those intentions but she knows it's him before she rips off his mask to expose him.

Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime The bridge is crossed, so stand and watch it burn How long should we two wait, before we're one? Past all thought of right or wrong, one final question Past the point of no return, no going back now No second thoughts, I've decided, decided Our bodies entwining defenseless and silent I have come here, hardly knowing the reason why What warm unspoken secrets will we learn?

Past the point of no return, the final threshold Past all thought of if or when, no use resistingĪbandon thought and let the dream descend The games we've played, till now are at an end Past the point of no return, no backward glances
