This mod works in the single-player mode without any problems, because there is no anti-cheat plugin. Of course, the whole thing can also be reversed and you can specify which blocks should be highlighted. In this case, Advanced XRay is different from other mods, because you can select the blocks you want to make transparent directly in Minecraft. The texture is derived from the redstone block so that it will be compatible with most packs (if the target pack has a rather unusual redstone block the square might not be as obvious as in default) Monster blocks (silver fish blocks) have a red square on them.
